NY Police Officer Seeking More LGBT Auxiliary Presence

The 6th Precinct which covers the West Village is recruiting for the Police Auxiliary, class is this March. What better way to take back our streets in the village than to show a LGBT uniform presence, and bring the community closer with pride.

We were contacted recently by NYPD Officer Oliveras from the 6th Precinct in the West Village with a request that we were happy to share. The precinct which covers the West Village, one of the most LGBT populated areas, is recruiting for the Police Auxiilary. Below is his message along with a link if you're interested in being an LGBT leader in the NYPD:

Greetings!

The 6th Precinct which covers the West Village is recruiting for the Police Auxiliary, class is this March.  What better way to take back our streets in the village than to show a LGBT uniform presence, and bring the community closer with pride. There many benefits with training in the Auxiliary unit and members aren't placed in dangerous situations as uniform officers.

The link below they may apply online and gives more information. http://www.nyc.gov/html/nypd/html/careers/auxiliary_police.shtml
